Ten must watch movies for learning some management lessons

1. Inside Job - Starring Matt Demon - This is a perfect made movie to understand the subprime mortgage crisis.

2. Wall Street 1 and 2 - No better movie to explain that stock investing needs prudence and Greed is dangerous.

3. Up in the Air - Starring my all time favourite actor , George Clooney , it depicts the HR consultancy angle during recessionary times.

4. Pursuit of Happyness (the y is purposeful (i know my spellings right :) , see the movie to understand the reason)- Again my all time favourite actor Will Smith , playing the role of Chris Gardner who went to built his own investment firm in the future. This movie shows the working of an investment firm Dean Witter and Chris Gardner's struggle as a father to a young boy , struggling through the the harsh reality of the world.

5. Money Ball - My PhD area focuses on something similar called predictive analytics. Again based on a true story it showcases Brad Pitt as the coach who uses a predictive analytic technique of a Stanford graduate for winning a baseball game.

6. Invictus - A biographic starring Morgan Freeman , one of the best actors I have seen and respected for his acting skills , plays the character of Nelson Mandela and shows how a national leader motivates the Rugby team through its Captain.

7. Confessions of a Shopaholic - Based on a novel written by Sophie Kinsella , this fiction movie shows the concept of savings and its importance especially in a world where credit based buying has become a 'trend'.

8. Social Network - A biographic on the then Harvard Student and today's Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg showcases the fact that it is not easy to achieve success and more difficult to retain its charm.

9. Intern - Starring one of my favourite actor , Anne Hathway , this movie showcases the working of a start - up company. Concept of Venture Capital can be understood very nicely through the same.

10. Jobs - Starring Ashton Kutcher , a movie that shows the story of a college dropout , to launching a successful company , being asked to leave one's dream by asking him to leave a company he had built and making a comeback. A movie that is a must watch for someone who dreams big.

Happy Watching !!
